Headquartered in South Africa, MTN Group a leading provider of communications services offering cellular network access and business solutions, is already an InMobiles client, however this is the first time a Group agreement has been made.
Quoting MTN: "The Group recognizes the quality of InMobiles' product portfolio and their reputation, support and knowledge. Additionally understanding of the Operator’s business were among the considerations in our decision to commit to and formalize the business relationship with InMobiles"
As for InMobiles' CEO, Mr. Charbel Litany commented that: “InMobiles offers niche expertise at a regional level combined with a global perspective. We have an unmatched track record and complementary portfolio of services that will prepare, equip and optimize the whole of the MTN throughout all stages. We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with MTN.”
The MEA region is experiencing a period of consolidation. Therefore it was essential for MTN to have one trusted partner to help them deliver their vision. Different parts of the region are experiencing varying stages of market penetration - the Middle East, with more than 60%, is thereby seeking to build on existing business through expansion with new technologies.
Africa has around 31% market penetration with year on year GSM connections growth predicted to be a similar percentage, and is enjoying its status as a significant emerging market.
